This is an hourly position and will be rated based on experience and qualifications.  You must be an energetic, personable, and highly motivated individual.  You must be able to stand on your feet for up to 8 hours with minimal breaks and handle physical tasks related to restaurant operations.  A minimum education level of a High School diploma or equivalent is necessary.  ServSafe Certification is required.  Primary tasks include handling the preparation of food orders as they come in from servers and handling the preparation and timing between orders you prepare on the grill along with those meals prepared in the kitchen.  Secondary tasks will involve (but are not limited to) pricing, food preparation for following shift, customer service, etc.   Qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent, ServSafe Certified, proficient in Microsoft Word application software, 2+ years of food preparation experience in a fast paced restaurant atmosphere.  General kitchen and food prep knowledge is required.  It will be necessary to work well with others and function well as a team leader with the rest of the staff.  Tom and Joe’s Restaurant has now been serving Altoona for 80 years with a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic diner atmosphere.  Applicants must have good social skills, be comfortable in a kitchen setting, and be able to multi-task in a kitchen setting.  Hourly rate will be negotiable and based on skill level and experience.  To apply for this position, download and print an application from the link below.  Fill out the application and drop it off during regular business hours or mail the application to Tom & Joe’s Restaurant; 1201 13th Ave; Altoona, PA 16601
